To give a student the opportunity to pass GCSE English with the best grade possible, eastuition is launching Get the Grade, a competition for local students on the C/D borderline with a prize tuition package worth £1550.
Based in the heart of Framlingham, eastuition offers coaching, courses and classes in English, Spanish and Creative Writing for school students and adults alike. Tuition is tailored to individual needs to identify stumbling blocks, develop confidence and fulfil potential.
September sees the start of a very exciting term at eastuition following the summer’s outstanding exam results where 70% of students beat predicted grades by two.
For school students needing academic support, there are one-to-one tuition programmes that build on strengths and raise achievement through individual focus and goals. For those preferring to share sessions with friends, there’s the Study Buddy Scheme with discounted fees on tuition for small groups.
There’s lots for adults, too, with small group classes or private tuition bundles. Anyone planning a trip to Spain or South America can equip themselves with some Spanish in classes for Beginners and Improvers. For those wishing to indulge their creativity, Creative Writing courses provide the perfect antidote to the routine of everyday life.
Sarah-Jane Page, owner and director of eastuition, has over fifteen years’ experience of teaching and tutoring people of all ages, and a decade as an examiner.
Sarah-Jane always had two dreams for her career – to write stories and open a school. She studied Spanish with English at university and started her working life backstage in West End theatres. Following a short spell in recruitment, Sarah-Jane trained as a teacher and moved to Suffolk. Her love of all things Spanish led her to organise a sixth form expedition to Peru, and once there, she was smitten.
Her newfound love of South America took her away from schools to volunteer as an interpreter for Raleigh International in Patagonia, and then to independent travel around Chile and Argentina. Still not ready to say goodbye to Latin life, she worked for two years as a Tour Leader leading groups on exclusive tailor-made trips all over the southern cone.
South American travel re-ignited her desire to write and her ‘travel-blog’ attracted a wide readership. Once home in Suffolk, she turned her attention to short stories, having work published in Mslexia and online, before starting a novel. In 2009, Sarah-Jane won a place on the Escalator Literature Scheme with Katharine McMahon as her mentor. Since then, Sarah-Jane has secured agent representation with Ella Kahn of DKW, and is currently working on her second novel set in Peru.
Sarah-Jane has always found a way to combine her passions for teaching, writing, language and travel. In 2011, she was interpreter on a high-profile publicity tour in Spain for a British author. In 2012, she was chosen from more than two thousand applicants to travel the world as private tutor for the daughter of a renowned billionaire. Now, her feet firmly on Framlingham soil, Sarah-Jane brings the wealth of her experience to enrich learning at eastuition
