Rhianna Prentice, co-owner of The Beauty Room in Marks Tey, talks all things beauty to help kick start your 2015 beauty regime
It’s 2015. That means it’s time for a change to your beauty regime and time to experiment with new looks and styles.
Let’s start with the basics: cleaning and moisturising the skin. Looking after your skin is one of the most important things you can do. Personally, I love Dermalogica. There is such a range of products you will always find one that suits your skin. You can look for a Dermalogica stockists at www.dermalogica.co.uk and have a free face mapping treatment to tell you what products are best suited for your skin.
Have you ever wondered why your make-up doesn’t last? Applying a face primer after moisturising but before foundation helps your make-up stay in place all day. It also minimises the look of open pores, fine lines and gives an amazing flawless look. One of my favourites is Mii Smoothing Face Prep because it feels so silky and smooth once applied and gives an even coverage which is perfect for everyday use. You’ll be amazed by the difference.
After applying a base you need a good quality foundation. It’s good to try a new foundation from time to time, and I’m sure you will be surprised with the difference. Pop down to one of your local department stores where you can try a wide range of different brands of products all in the same place. Go for a foundation that not only looks good, but is easy to apply and feels great on. Go in the morning and give it a full day wear, even trying it into the evening to see how well it holds up.
Why not finish off your new make-up regime with a bold, colourful lipstick that will instantly brighten your face? Whether it’s on the natural side or a vibrant tangerine, choose a colour that suits your skin but isn’t what you’d normally go for. 2015 is the time to experiment with your make-up styles.
Well manicured nails are a must; it really is the finishing touch to any outfit, no matter what you’re wearing or what look you’re going for. Jessica nails is a brand I always use. They place high importance on their prodcts being natural and not damaging to the nails. They also have a wide range of colours to suit all. I particularly love the GELeration nail treatment that is available in salons (including our own). It’s a semi-permanent nail polish in gel form that lasts between two and three weeks on the nail, with no chipping or smudging and is dry instantly under LED light. You’ll never look at nail varnish the same way again!
My final piece of advice for 2015? Don’t be afraid to try new colours, brands or styles!
