This year’s Woodbridge Regatta 2015 is being held on Midsummer’s Day, Sunday 21st June. Activities start at 12 noon and finish at 5:15pm with Songs of Praise at the Bandstand.

People of all ages gather beside the River Deben for yacht racing, dinghy races, rowing and tender racing as well as the single oar sculling race in memory of Frank and Christine Knights.  The hotly contested raft race organised by 1st Woodbridge Scout Group is back by popular demand and there are free boat trips up and down the river to view the fun from a different perspective.

There will be a Children’s Activity Centre in the Bandstand offering face painting and a variety of games and craft activities. Here children can also sign up for the crabbing competition. Those too young to venture out on the River Deben are invited to bring their own model yacht to sail on the nearby Model Yacht Pond or even hire one on the day from the Tea Hut. Later in the afternoon, the famous Woodbridge & District Lions Club Duck Dive will take place in the Model Yacht Pond.

Live music can be enjoyed throughout the day at various locations along the river wall with the Woodbridge Cruising club playing host to the High Water Shanty Band. The Deben Yacht Club will be providing refreshments all afternoon and there will be a range of other food and refreshment stalls dotted around.

Woodbridge Regatta is FREE for all to enjoy and there is FREE CAR PARKING at Suffolk Coastal District Council car park at Melton Hill, Woodbridge, IP12 1AU courtesy of Choose Woodbridge so there really is no reason to miss out on this fabulous community celebration.
